6 months!

Dear Violet,
Today you are 6 MONTHS OLD! It's hard to believe that you are half way through your infancy. You are growing up so fast. I weighed you today on the bathroom scale and you were 18.5 lbs! You are also growing hair which is so incredibly soft and strokable. You are getting very stable when you sit and you have great posture. You just started eating food and I have introduced you to 4 foods so far : rice cereal, bananas, pears, and yogurt. There are so many more interesting tastes and textures I want to introduce you to soon! You love exploring the world through your mouth- you tend to put everything you find in it these days. We've been looking for teeth in there, but haven't seen any yet. Mornings are your favorite time of day - you always wake up with a big smile and I often find you talking to Violet Bear in your bed. You are almost always "was happy" at daycare and I can tell that your teachers love you. You don't seem like you really recognize me when I pick you up at the end of the day, but other people say that you definitely know who your Mama is. I still miss you a lot during the day while I'm at work. While you aren't a great napper yet, you are very good about going to sleep at night. You like to go to sleep by 7pm, but you don't always like to stay asleep. Maybe you miss me at night? It's OK if you want to sleep more, I'll still be here in the morning, I promise. Every time I pick you up though, regardless of the hour, I kiss your downy hair and nuzzle your soft baby neck and I realize what a sweet, sweet girl you are and how lucky I am to be your mom.
